What is hydroseeding?

Hydroseeding is a fast, efficient way to establish grass or groundcover by spraying a slurry of seed, water, fertiliser, mulch fibres, and tackifier directly onto the soil. Instead of spreading seed dry, everything is mixed into one nutrient-rich blend that sticks to the ground and gives seeds the perfect conditions to germinate.

Hydroseeding starts with preparing the site – clearing/spraying/levelling. A tailored slurry mix is then pressure sprayed with hydroseeder, giving full, even coverage – including slopes, banks, uneven ground and tricky access areas. With the right watering, germination usually begins within a week, and strong establishment follows over the next few weeks as the mulch breaks down and feeds the developing grass.

How does it work : the process

1. Site prep
We spray off/remove existing grass and weeds, then level and prepare the surface so the seed has the best start.

2. Hydroseeding application
We apply your custom slurry mix with full, even coverage – including slopes and tricky areas.

3. Watering & establishment
You water as advised, and the seed begins germinating quickly. We’ll guide you on the right schedule so it establishes properly.
